Although most of our control rooms are fabricated from G90 galvanized steel, we also build them in aluminum or stainless steel. Regardless of the materials, regardless of whether the control room is to be located outside or in a turbine hall, we protect all interior and exterior surfaces with a combination of two-part, catalyzed epoxy and polyurethane finishes.

Every control room is engineered as a portable structure, totally self-supporting from the base, and can be mounted directly to framework, piers, pads, or foundations with all equipment installed.

The walls and roof are assembled on a heavy-duty welded steel base of structural shapes and beams. These are chosen and arranged to provide the engineered structural integrity and to receive any floor-mounted equipment.
Typically, the bottom of the base is supplied with a welded and sealed inner panel. This provides both weather and rodent seal, holds floor insulation, and allows for convenient building penetration for external wires and cables.
The entire base is considered a wireway because all points throughout the structure are accessible from the subfloor wireway system. It's a cost-effective wiring method that generally eliminates the need for overhead cable trays.
